Ellen E. Hammerle, Ph.D., MFT

Dr. Ellen Hammerle is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT #32398) who holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Dr. Hammerle is a therapist who uses a psychodynamic framework informed by object relations, self psychology and family systems theory. She has extensive experience working with stress management, group dynamics, and communication skill development within relationships, mediation, meditation, parent-infant work and chronic illness. Dr. Hammerle specializes in working with individuals and couples to cultivate communication, healing and transformation.

Dr. Hammerle has written books and many articles on related subjects and is frequently called upon to give lectures and lead workshops. Dr. Hammerle has conducted trainings and education programs in Stress Management, Meditation, Western Psychology, Spirituality, and Consciousness.

Amelia Pryor, Ph.D., MFT

Amelia Pryor, Ph.D. is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT #34681) who works with individuals on issues including overcoming pain from the past, creating and maintaining integrity in relationships, increasing self-esteem, overcoming addictions, and with individuals in many kinds of life transitions. Dr. Pryor enjoys working with adult siblings who would like to unlock themselves from family patterns of interaction and communication.

Dr. Pryor teaches stress reduction and stress-management to businesses and community agencies. She worked in the business world before becoming a psychotherapist and is interested in helping people bring balance and connection between life and career. She holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from John F. Kennedy University and a Ph.D. in East-West Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Dr. Pryor presents at local and international conferences and is a published author who has done research and written in the fields of psychology, consciousness, and science.

George Matchette, MFT

George Matchette is a licensed Marriage Family Therapist (MFT 33239) with many years of experience working with individuals and couples.  Mr. Matchette specializes in trauma reduction and core belief transformation using a variety of techniques, including active imagination, energy psychology, and close process work with psyche, mind, body, and spirit. Mr. Matchette is a certified master practitioner of Seemorg Matrix Work and a student of Sufism psychology.  In addition, Mr. Matchette has a background in object-relations, ego defense analysis, and how couples develop greater intimacy.  

Mr. Matchette received his Master's degree in Counseling from St. Mary's College where he trained new counselors for 15 years and taught courses in psychological theories, couples treatment, and human development.  Mr. Matchette also teaches lawyers and mediators in effective communication skills in seminars and classes throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.  Mr. Matchette is a founding member of the Community Healing Centers and currently provides therapy for individual and couples at its San Francisco location.

Cathy Della Valle, M.A.

Cathy Della Valle earned her MA in Counseling Psychology in 2000 (with honors). She has worked as a volunteer on the Suicide Prevention Hotline and then as a Grief Counselor at Family Service Agency of Marin. After completion of Graduate School, she worked full time at Managed Health Network and continued to intern with Family Service Agency of Marin. Recently, she has been working for a nurse/psychotherapist learning about hormone imbalance and how it is related to mental health.

Her theoretical approach is rooted in psychodynamic psychology; however, she has always practiced within a Family Systems approach to help clients find strength in their current struggles. Her work is also informed by a Humanistic/ Existential orientation. She works from various theoretical models to match clients’ needs. Helge Osterhold, M.A.

Helge Osterhold received a master’s degree in counseling psychology and is currently completing a Ph.D. program in East-West Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies. In his holistic psychotherapy practice, he supports clients to grow towards acceptance and wholeness within themselves and build satisfying and authentic relationships with others. His work with individuals and couples is rooted in humanistic-existential and transpersonal psychology, but also informed by his experience with family constellation work and systemic theory. Mr. Osterhold is trained extensively in energy psychology (EFT) to treat anxiety, trauma and psychosomatic challenges. He serves as adjunct faculty in the graduate program of psychology at Golden Gate University in San Francisco and has been leading trainings as well as growth workshops and therapeutic groups in Europe and the United States. Tamra Sattler, M.A.

Tami is completing her doctoral coursework at CIIS in East-West Psychology with a focus in spiritual counseling. Her background includes fifteen years in the business world and ten years of self-exploration in many varied modalities in spirituality and psychology. Her work with her clients is an integrative blend of Rogerian and coginitive-behavorial approaches practiced through a transpersonal lens, allowing for more love for self and other. Christina Cowger, M.A.

Christina brings and eclectic mix of skills, experience and theory to her work with individuals, couples and families. Christina graduated from the rigorous Master’s program at Sonoma State University in 2000. Her undergraduate work was done at Syracuse University.

As far back as two decades ago Cristina was working within the non-profit setting with a mentally ill population where she created a thriving Art Therapy Program. Since that time Christina has counseled in various settings, both private practice and clinic settings. Christina’s work with couples, in particular, has gained her many high conflict couples which she has been very successful with.

Although Christina recognizes the value of long term therapy she works effectively with clients when solution focused, short term therapy is appropriate. Combining her creative background, clinical and educational experience and current research and work within the growing area of Neurotransmitter testing and treatment, Christina brings a truly holistic perspective to her counseling work. Trainees

Pamela M. Ashkenazy,
Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee

Pamela Ashkenazy practices within a Family Systems approach to help clients build rewarding familial relationships. Her training is focused on bereavement and loss. Currently she offers bereavement groups for parents who are challenged with realigning their lives after the death of a child. Pamela works within a client-directed framework, allowing for flexibility in her therapeutic approach, particularly in her work with families of adolescents.

Pamela is realizing her vision of guiding parents out of challenging times and into psychological and emotional unity. Currently she is involved with Trips For Kids, The Youth Leadership Institute, and teen programs focused on addiction in the family. She has been a volunteer with Marin Services for Women. She has completed a training program with Suicide Prevention of Marin County.
